Genex Sired Progeny at Old Home Week

Genex sired progeny had good results at the 2011 Old Home Week Beef Shows in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.

In the open Angus show, Julie Mutch's JEM Classy Lady 15Y sired by S A V Bismarck 5682 was the Champion Angus Heifer Calf.  Glen and Ronnie Ford's Wheatley River Colleen 2X sired by Quaker Hill Objective 3J15 was second in her yearling heifer class.

In the open Simmental show, Hidden Hollow Farm's Hidden H Sweet Meat 170Y sired by TNT Top Gunn R244 was a bull calf class winner as well as the Grand Champion Male.   In the mature cow class, CMS Ureika 807U, sired by Remington Red Label HR won her class and went on to be the Senior Female Champion and Grand Champion Female.  She was also named the Supreme Champion Female over all breeds.

In the Igenity Angus Classic Futurity, MacKinnnon Homestead's MKHF Mistress 1Y, sired by S A V Bismarck 5682 was tied as the Reserve Champion Heifer Calf.

Potential 2012 4H Heifer Projects Available on October 1st

We have four potential 2012 4H heifer projects available in our 2011 sale on October 1st.  All calves are halter broke and have been shown.  Below are the details on all four of these calves.  Stay tuned for updates.


Green tag # 11Y, purebred Angus heifer, Krone Royal 1140 X 46M (JEM Stockman 3K) born on January 2, 2011.  Click here for her Canadian Angus Association pedigree link.  She is the only registered Krone Royal 1140 female in Canada.  Maternal brother was second highest selling steer in 2010 and went on to be the Champion Any Other Breed and Grand Champion Steer at the 2011 PEI Easter Beef Show & Sale.  Another maternal brother was Grand Champion Steer at the Border Classic for Scott Dixon in 2010.  She is is eligible for the 2012 Igenity Angus Classic.  Dam is bred to Monopoly for a November calf.  August 17th weight, 670 lbs.

Green tag # 15Y, heifer, Eye Candy X 25T, purebred Angus (Sitz Tradition RLS 02), born on January 5, 2011. Maternal brother was Reserve Champion Maine Anjou steer for Irwin Jay at the 2011 PEI Easter Beef Show & Sale.  Dam was Champion Angus Heifer Calf at Old Home Week in 2007.  Dam is bred to Eye Candy for a November calf.  August 17th weight, 614 lbs.

Green tag # 17Y, purebred Angus heifer, S A V Net Worth 4200 X  19P (Glen Islay Battlecry), born on January 14, 2011.  Full brother was the2010 Reserve Grand Champion Male at Charlottetown and the Champion Bull Calf in the Igenity Angus Classic.  The bull sold as a yearling for $3200.  This calf is eligible for the 2012 Igenity Angus Classic.  Dam is bred to Boardwalk for a December calf.  August 17th weight, 685 lbs.

Yellow tag # 17Y, heifer, Tyson X Princess, (Angus/Charolais), born on January 14, 2011.  Maternal brother was Champion Charolais steer at the 2008 PEI Easter Beef Show.  Dam is bred to Mercedes Benz for a December calf.  August 17th weight, 630 lbs.

Black Angus Bull for Sale Immediately

We are selling the choice of one of our two Black Angus bulls.

Our 4 year old bull, KJDF Tombstone 77T, (TC Grid Topper 355 X JEM Classy Lady 23L) is halter broken and was shown as a calf and a yearling.  He was the 2007 Igenity Classic Bull Calf Champion at Old Home Week in Charlottetown and the 2008 Reserve Grand Champion Male at the New Brunwick Beef Expo.  Click here to see his official pedigree and current EPDs from the Canadian Angus Association.  He is priced at $3000.

-sired the 2010 Border Classic Grand Champion steer shown by Scott Dixon.
-18 out of 21 of Tombstone's 2011 calves were born unassisted.
-77T had been in use at another farm from January-June and is now acting as a clean up bull here at home.
-is eligible for full $450 bull bonus for PEI buyers, here is the link to the online form.  Ultra sound and yearling weight data are on file with the PEI Department of Agriculture.  We have his genetic test certificate.
-New Brunswick and Nova Scotia buyers, please check with your departments for bull bonus eligibility.

The second bull we have to offer is KJDF X-Factor 22X.  X-Factor is halter broken, but was never shown.  He is a S A V Net Worth 4200 son.  Click here for his official pedigree and current EPDs from the Canadian Angus Association.  This bull was on test at Nappan this past winter.  He is priced at $2000.

-paternal brother, KJDF Mr. Xcitement 84X sold for $3200 at the Maritime Beef Test Station Sale in April, 2011 at Nappan.
-22X has been breeding as a clean up bull for us this spring.

Yellow tag # 17Y, heifer, Tyson X Princess, (Angus/Charolais), born on January 14, 2011.  Maternal brother was Champion Charolais steer (known as Valentine) at the 2008 PEI Easter Beef Show.  Dam is bred to Mercedes Benz for a December calf.  This calf is in our show string and goes by the name of Penny (inspired by the Big Bang Theory).
