Lot 24 and 25 sell on Saturday

The sale catalog is online for the Maritime Beef Test Station Sale at Nappan, Nova Scotia. Check it out here. The sale order is the same as the catalog beginning with Charolais followed by Black Angus.

Lot # 24 is KJDF Mr. Xcitement 84X. He is a SAV Net Worth 4200 son out of a Glen Islay Battle Cry dam. 84X was the Reserve Grand Champion Male at Charlottetown and the Champion Bull Calf in the Igenity Classic. Click here for his full pedigree as well as his strong EPDs. 84X weighed 1330 lbs on March 17th. He was born unassisted on January 10, 2010 with a 72 lb birth weight which is the lightest birth weight and scored the highest rib eye area of all Black Angus bulls in the sale.

84X's Igenity scores were as follows; Average Daily Gain-8, Tenderness-9, Marbling-7, Quality Grade-7, Yield Grade-8, rib eye Area-5, Heifer Pregnancy Rate-7, Stayability-7, Maternal Calving Ease-7, and Docility-7. 84X tested negative for BVD.

Lot # 25 is KJDF Xplorer 80X. He is a PVF New Horizon 001 son that is halter broke and was part of our show team. Click here for his full pedigree and above breed average EPDs. He finished 3rd in his open show class in Charlottetown and 2nd in the live portion of the Igenity Angus Classic and 3rd overall. 80X along with 2 females made up the first place get of sire at Charlottetown. His full brother, KJDF Womanizer 29W sold to Nova Scotia's Rocky Knoll Farm in April of 2010 at the Maritime Beef Test Station Bull Sale. 80X weighed 1343 lbs on March 17th. He was born unassisted on January 5, 2010 with a 78 lb birth weight. 80X's dam has been a solid producer with 3 of her first 4 calves selling at this sale.
